Middlesbrough Rugby Club field 3 senior teams this weekend.
The Wasps and A Team host Blaydon and Richmondshire rugby clubs respectively. Whilst the 1st XV travel to West Hartlepool in the final game of the season.
The game promises to be an explosion of running rugby. The 1st XV are in contention to be crowned champions of Regional 2 North, and the race for the top spot could not be much closer. In what has to be the closet league contest in English Rugby, Middlesbrough are joint top with Northern with 98 points and only 9 for/against points difference separates the two teams.
West Hartlepool are comfortably in fourth spot with no chance of gaining or losing that spot. However, that will not stop West from wanting to stop Middlesbrough from achieving a league win. The long and historic rivalry will kick in and it is going to be tough.
Meanwhile, Northern travel to Consett for their last match. Consett sit in 6th place but do have the opportunity of grabbing 5th spot from Durham who are at home against Carlisle.
