England Rugby is celebrating players and teams from across the leagues using the Electronic Match Card data provided on match day by teams.
This month reads:
Congratulations, Middlesbrough – you have won the Level 6 Team of the Month for October! Your team will feature on England Rugby social media channels and in a web article on our website (link to follow when available).
Obviously, we are all very proud of the team, but as our Team Captain and Head Coach say it is not all about the first team.
We’ve had a really good start to the season with some great performances home and away. We’ve had 60+ lads available to play on a Saturday regularly and nearly all of them have come through our junior section which is currently thriving with some great volunteers doing the unseen work. We sadly lost our friend and club member Richard Ward earlier this year, he would be very proud of this award and how the club is doing.
Jack McPhillips, 1st XV Captain
It has been a month of accolades for the club and this is the icing on the cake. We have had Brendan Hill scoring a solo 37 points in one game and Josh Lynas making his 200th appearance, both for the first team. The club has fielded 3 senior teams each week throughout October, as well as having hundreds of boys and girls playing every Sunday morning. We are very proud to achieve this award and hopefully it will inspire the younger players to keep playing rugby at a senior level.
Ollie Hodgson, Head Coach
Electronic Match Card allows everything from the tries and points scored to best defensive performance and kick percentage records to be viewed for every team from level 3 to 12.
