Following our excursion into Mordor last week we return to Le Parc du Acklam for a match against Consett in Regional 2 North.
Storm Babet had just about blown itself out and under a clear sky and with firm underfoot the game started. The home side started brightly and opened the scoring with a try from a driving maul the Rhino Josh Lynas coming up with the pill 5-0 Boro then extend their lead when Alistair Lang takes a quick tap and crosses the line Brendan Hill adds the extras 12-0 On the half hour the ball is fed to Sean Joseph who puts on the afterburners to score Brendan adds the conversion 19-0 Consett then respond with 2 tries and a conversion of their own, showing some of the skills that beat league leaders Percy Park last week. That takes us to half time Boro 19 Consett 12 The second stanza is all Boro another driving maul gives us another try this time scored by James Walker (I used to teach him Maths dontcha know, possibly why he’s bad at Maths but fab at rugby lol) That gives us our Try BP and Aedan Moloney adds the extras 26-12 That man Aedan Moloney intercepts a pass on halfway and races in from 50m, he converts it himself 33-12 Boro pack take control of a scrum and drive it over the line where No8 Toby Tremlett eventually dots the ball down 38-12 In a final flourish Consett round of the scoring with an unconverted try leaving the final score Middlesbrough 38 Consett 17 Top all round performance from the lads today.
