After an early morning pitch inspection both the Boro 1st XV and Wasps games have been postponed. Although the rains came, the ice cold weather during the mid part of the week has meant the ground is still too hard and slippery to play on.
Boro 1st XV were due to host York in the Yorkshire Cup semi-final of the Yorkshire Cup and the Wasps were to host Blaydon.
Perhaps the most disappointed is Myles Colvin, who I believe was due to be the second player to mark 200 games this season. Let’s hope he is fit and available for next weeks home game to Morpeth (and the weather doesn’t spoil it again).
If you need a local rugby fix there are a couple of cup fixtures at Acklam Park scheduled for tomorrow: 11am and 1pm respectively. With all the rain today and milder temperatures it is expected the ground the ground will be playable. However, watch this space just in case.
Finally, why not make a day of it at Acklam Park. The final week of the autumn internationals will see Ireland host Fiji at 15:10, Wales against South Africa at 17:40 and, for the real stalwart, Italy v New Zealand at 20:10.
