Middlesbrough Rugby Club are looking for more U12s and U13s to join the Club.

Middlesbrough Rugby Club boast some legendary talent throughout their history. The list includes 4 British and Irish Lions capped players in Phil Horrocks-Taylor (1959), Alan Old (1974), Rob Andrew (1989 and 1983) and Rory Underwood (1989 and 1983). Noticeable to the old guard in the Club, the first three were fly halves, and Rory Underwood is England’s all time try scorer (49 tries in 85 games): is that a record for a club at level 6 in the hierarchy?
Jack Rowell manged England between 1994 and 1997. Jack announced England would move from the forward dominated rugby to a more expansive game. Rowell’s England won 21of 29 games whilst he was in charge.
Currently playing at the top level Boro boast Adam Radwan (Newcastle and now Leicester) and Ben Stephenson (Newcastle). The current 10 mentioned in this weeks match report, Ste Jones, has represented Scotland U20s and Exeter. other current players to represent at U20s are Jack McPhillips and Peter Homan. There are probably more, that the author is unaware of.
On occasion, the legends are happy to go out of their way to encourage and support Middlesbrough. This very weekend Rob Andrew greeted three U14s and their coach at Rugby HQ (see below).

The camaraderie, the life long friendships, the opportunities to vent your frustrations in a positive manner; the list is endless. If you have thought about playing, stop thinking and give it a go.
Although this call out is specifically for U12s and U13s, there are groups of all age ranges. There is a blossoming ladies section and we are encouraging girls of all ages to get involved.
