A big congratulations to Harley Wright who, after a couple of selection trials, has been selected for the Durham County U18s squad for the 2024/25 season.
As a junior Harley boasts two Yorkshire Cup wins for the U15 and U16 sides, and one runners up medal for the U17/U18 Colts last season.
Harley first started playing rugby at the age of 5, but was hitting crash bags from an even earlier age. He has represented MRUFC at all levels and has always shown good promise. At an early age Harley established a place in the U18 Colts. He has become an integral part of the squad and is well respected by his teammates and other club members alike.
Recently, Harley also had a run out for the Boro ‘A’ team, where he shared the pitch with Brandon Green, Jake Pemberton* and Francis Armstrong. His proud dad Dennis also played in that game. No upmanship here Dennis.😀
Harley’s performances over the previous season and this season so far, have clearly not gone unnoticed.
Good luck Harley and again, well done.
*It is also worth noting that Jake Pemberton played 2nd team last Saturday. Coach Mark Willis was well impressed with his performance. Well done Jake and Brandon. Keep up the good work.
