We beat them all over the park just not on the scoreboard.
Just one of those days over in Cumbria, scrummaged well, tackled well, ran hard, driving maul worked brilliantly, I’m still unsure as to how we got beat. 12 minutes in and a quick line out is taken by Boro, ball to Matthew Marsay who runs deep into the Keswick 22, he feeds Toby Tremlettwho sets the ball up for Josh Lynas and The Rhino finishes the move with a try. Josh you’re giving us old time props a bad name being in the right place at the right time every bloody week. Scrummage being dominated by Boro, stand in lock Joe Mac is out standing with his effort, along with the rest of the pack. Keswick then score with their player jinking through the defence to score, the con was added and shortly after a penalty too 10-5 On the stroke of Half Time the home team add another penalty HT Keswick 13 Boro 5 Second half opens with Boro dominating and a catch and drive from a lineout results in a score from Steven ‘Stumpy’ Hoare13-10 Keswick end their scoring for the afternoon with another penalty 16-10 Middlesbrough are all over them now, Rohan Brown is given the ball 30 yards out and runs straight and hard knocking at least 3 defenders out of the way to score 16-15 Wave after wave of attacks by the Boro are held off by Keswick’s stout defence. The lads drive over the line and put the ball down to score, the referees view was obstructed and by the time he got in position to see a canny home player had picked up the ball and run away with it no try. As I said just one of those games, rub of the green, bounce of the ball not in our favour..it happens. Keep your heads up fellas, you’re still a fab team, a great bunch of chaps and we are all very proud of you On to next week a Home game against league newcomers Upper Eden. Once again thank you to all those who travelled to support the lads Especially Andrew Catto Catterson who came from his new home in Cockermouth to support us, Great to see you my mate.
