In a clash of the 150th anniversary clubs we headed up the road to our old adversaries Durham City.
It was damp down by the riverside with that thin rain, you know, the type that soaks you through
Five minutes after a kick off a succession of line-outs sees Boro camped in the opposition red zone and one of these line-outs results in a driving maul, that began to stutter a bit until the backs joined in and pushed it over the line with Scrum half Jake Chalklen coming up with the score 0-5
On 17 minutes our hosts come back with a seven pointer of their own after some good back play 7-5
Just before half time the lads from the land of the Prince Bishops kick a penalty 10-5
Half time DC 10 Boro 5 this is a decent match with both sides giving their all in tricky conditions
Second stanza yellow card for both teams, harsh for Boro I thought as the DC player was clearly the aggressor
DC then kick a penalty 13-5
Boro are giving it their all trying to break through a stubborn DC defence, then with a few minutes left, a sensational move along the backs Jack Mac to Sean Moloney a strong run into the red zone back inside to Jack to score 13-10
With only seconds left Boro receive the kick off and attempt a final surge but this is thwarted and time runs out with the Final Score Durham City 13 Middlesbrough 10
Boy, was there some graft put in out there today although ultimately only gaining us a losing BP.
Next week we celebrate our 150th Anniversary at Acklam Park against fellow celebrants Percy Park 2:15pm KO
Thank you for all the fab support today hope to see you all next week
