Ben “Steveo” he’s one of our own.

What a special weekend the 10th and 11th September proved to be for Ben Stevenson.

On the Saturday, the Newcastle Falcon’s flier made his 50th first team appearance in the premiership fixture against Harlequins.

However, of equal, if not more significance was his visit to Acklam Park on the Sunday, the place where it all began for Ben in our juniors.

Ben has maintained contact with the club over the years, supporting the crowdfunding campaign and following the successes of the boys on the field. As a club we were delighted to hear from him when he offered to come down and spend some time with our young players as part of our 150 celebrations.

Accompanied by his friend and Falcon’s physio Toby Tremlett (who also plays back row for Boro 1st XV) Ben spent time posing for photographs before presenting the club with a signed and framed shirt for the club to display.

We are all so proud of what Ben has achieved as a player and a man. Hisv isit will no doubt be an inspiration to so many young people who he met that morning. We would love to see him back at Acklam Park soon.
